Romain Grosjean, former Formula 1 driver, has praised Max Verstappen for his outstanding 2025 season. Although Max Verstappen narrowly missed the championship by just two points, Romain Grosjean described his comeback as thrilling and inspirational for fans and fellow drivers alike.
A challenging start to the season
During the first half of the season, the Red Bull car struggled for performance, allowing Oscar Piastri to lead the championship with a comfortable margin over the rest of the field. However, everything changed with the arrival of the summer period: the car improved significantly, and Max Verstappen fought back to climb to second place in the standings.
Grosjean’s words on Verstappen
“In 2025, Abu Dhabi was almost the least exciting race of the season. But the anticipation leading up to Abu Dhabi was incredible,” Romain Grosjean said.
“I have to say, Max Verstappen was the best driver this year. He didn’t have a great car, he lost a lot of points, and it was a miracle that he was back in contention at Abu Dhabi. He shouldn’t have been there, and to finish just two points behind Norris was exceptional.”
“It’s definitely one of his best seasons,” he continued. “Last year he was strong, the year before the car was so dominant that it was easy in a sense. His first title was tough with the battle against Lewis. That was great, but I would say this year… to come back from so far behind and be so consistent and strong. It has been an inspiration for many drivers.”
Max Verstappen’s remarkable season
Undoubtedly, Max Verstappen’s 2025 season left everyone astonished, once again proving why he deserves, and has always deserved, to be a world champion. His resilience, skill, and determination made his campaign truly memorable and inspirational for the entire Formula 1 community.
