Even without a Ferrari on the podium, Monza celebrated a spectacular performance from Max Verstappen, who thrilled Italian fans with a commanding victory. The Red Bull driver finished almost twenty seconds ahead of the two McLaren cars, claiming his third win of the 2025 season.

The Dutchman, born in 1997, delivered a masterful performance throughout the race. After a solid start, Max Verstappen squeezed Lando Norris a little too much, resulting in him cutting the first chicane. He had to give back the position but quickly bounced back, executing a bold overtaking move to regain the lead.

From that point on, Max Verstappen maintained a fast and consistent pace, never allowing Lando Norris or Oscar Piastri to get close. He charged straight to the checkered flag, securing another dominant victory for Red Bull this season.

Helmut Marko praises Verstappen and Red Bull

Helmut Marko described Verstappen’s Monza win as “an incredible victory.” He highlighted the astonishing 20-second gap over the McLaren cars, noting how the team had struggled just a few races ago. “Two races ago in Hungary, we were barely scoring points, and after one of our worst races last year, this is an incredible recovery for Red Bull,” Marko said.

The Austrian advisor acknowledged that the championship may already be out of reach, but stressed that the team is now focused on claiming more victories. Marko added that after Zandvoort, Red Bull had already sensed they had a car capable of performing strongly at Monza. “Yes, after our performance in the Netherlands, we understood the car much better. Max is fully motivated again, and to be this dominant is truly another level,” he concluded at the end of the Italian Grand Prix.
