Max Verstappen continues his chase for victory in Las Vegas after a strong showing in Mexico and Brazil. Despite finishing on the podium in both races, often defying post-qualifying predictions, the Dutch Red Bull driver was unable to strengthen his hopes of defending the world championship. The three wins secured by Lando Norris, including the Sprint race, extended the gap at the top of the standings to 49 points, making Verstappen’s challenge even more difficult.
Nonetheless, Max Verstappen heads to Las Vegas seeking more race wins, starting at the very track where he celebrated his fourth consecutive world title just one year ago. “The race in Brazil was really special for us,” Verstappen said. “I didn’t expect the podium to be possible, but the team put in an incredible performance. It proves that we never give up. As we approach the final triple-header, we’ll do our absolute best and keep pushing because we have nothing to lose. Las Vegas is a fast circuit with low aerodynamic load, and temperatures look quite low this week, so tire management will be key. We have great memories from this track — we won the championship here last year — so we hope to deliver another positive performance on Sunday.”
Yuki Tsunoda will aim to return to the points zone. “Las Vegas is always a crazy week, very different from other races, and not just because of the location, which is truly unique,” the Japanese AlphaTauri driver said. “The temperatures create particular challenges, which means we have to try different solutions to get the car working properly. Even though Brazil was tough for me, my pace was good, and if I can maintain that level, I should be in contention for points.”
