Early in the year, some defended him by saying he needed time to adapt to the Red Bull car. However, as the season progressed, that excuse has lost its weight. While Red Bull currently sits third in the Constructors’ Championship, almost all credit goes to Max Verstappen. Out of the team’s 366 total points, Yuki Tsunoda has contributed only 28—a figure that highlights just how far behind he is. His future looks uncertain, and the team’s management in Milton Keynes is reportedly considering other drivers from their talent pool, including Isack Hadjar, Liam Lawson, and Arvid Lindblad.
Among them, Lindblad appears closest to securing a Racing Bulls seat for next season, which would leave two available spots—counting Yuki Tsunoda’s current position at Red Bull—for three drivers. Many within the paddock believe Isack Hadjar could be the one to replace Yuki Tsunoda. The young Frenchman has been in impressive form lately, scoring strong results and even earning a podium finish, proving he has the skill and momentum to challenge for a promotion.
However, as is often the case with Red Bull, driver decisions are rarely made before the end of the season. The final verdict on Yuki Tsunoda’s future is expected by mid-December. It’s a crucial moment for a driver who once showed great promise at Racing Bulls (previously AlphaTauri) but seems to have lost that spark since moving up to Red Bull’s main team. Whether Yuki Tsunoda can turn things around or faces an early exit remains to be seen, but time is clearly running out.
