Another ‘episode’ in the clash between Max Verstappen and Netflix
“I heard that apparently I was angry after Miami. In reality, I’ve never had so much fun as that night, so I have no idea why I could have been angry.” During a Twitch stream, Max Verstappen – live from his living room with his ‘drivers’ in the GTWC, Chris Lulham and Thierry Vermeulen – once again didn’t hold back in criticizing Netflix’s excessive dramatization in their F1 series “Drive to Survive.”
In the seventh season, there is of course an episode dedicated to Lando Norris’s first career win, which came in Miami thanks to a bit of luck, namely a Safety Car that allowed the British driver to pit and take the lead of the race, which had been held by Max Verstappen, who had pitted before the incident between Logan Sargeant and Kevin Magnussen to avoid losing his position to Charles Leclerc, who had pitted even earlier than the Red Bull driver.
In the press conference, Max Verstappen was visibly happy for his friend who had finally broken through, so much so that when asked how decisive the Safety Car was, he replied, “If my mother had balls, she’d be my father.” Nevertheless, Netflix chose to romanticize the situation by painting a picture of Verstappen being angry over the result of the Miami GP.
