One billion for Max Verstappen
In recent weeks, the Formula 1 world has been stirred by a report from the British *Daily Mail*, claiming that Aston Martin had made a £1 billion offer to Max Verstappen to lure him away from Red Bull and bring him on board, reuniting him with Adrian Newey in the same team. The speculation had already been dismissed by Red Bull team principal Christian Horner, but now the Dutch champion himself has addressed the matter.
Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the season-opening event organized by F1 at London’s O2 Arena, the four-time world champion denied any offer or negotiations with Lawrence Stroll’s team. The only discussions between the parties concerned Max Verstappen’s interest in using the Vantage GT3 cars produced by the British brand for his *Verstappen.com Racing* team.
No negotiations
“The only contact I had with them was about the GT3 for this year. That’s all. There’s not much to say because there’s nothing,” Max Verstappen stated. The #1 driver has been at the center of intense transfer rumors since the start of last season, when internal tensions at Red Bull sparked strong interest from Mercedes and Toto Wolff. Now, Aston Martin has become the latest candidate to ‘tempt’ Max Verstappen.
However, it should be noted that the 27-year-old from Hasselt has a contract with Red Bull that runs until the end of the 2028 Formula 1 season. In his latest public statements, Max Verstappen has consistently reiterated that his priority remains honoring his agreement with the Milton Keynes team.
