The title won in 2024 has placed Max Verstappen in the absolute elite of Formula 1, even from a purely statistical perspective. At just 27 years old, the Red Bull driver is the third most successful driver in the history of the sport and tied for fourth in terms of championships won. It’s impossible not to include him in the classic “greatest of all time” debate.
However, the Hasselt superstar has never shown much interest in such discussions. In a recent interview with Dutch TV channel Viaplay for a documentary on his latest season, Max Verstappen made it clear that he doesn’t think about his legacy in F1 compared to other greats but is focused solely on achieving the best possible results.
“The GOAT debate? I honestly don’t care. I’m very happy with what I’m doing,” said the Red Bull #1. “In the end, it’s a debate with many different opinions, so it doesn’t matter to me. I just want to have fun and win as much as possible.”
