Lewis Hamilton’s big heart
The victory at the 2024 British Grand Prix in Silverstone will always hold a special place in Lewis Hamilton’s career, as the home race marked his return to victory after a drought of 945 days. The images at the finish and on the podium were particularly emotional, with the seven-time world champion unable to hold back his emotions in front of his fans.
On that podium, the future Ferrari driver wore the IWC Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team, valued at €15,200. That particular chronograph, along with a pair of signed racing gloves, has been put up for auction by the English champion for a price ranging between €32,000 and €106,000.
The Laureus Charity Night
The auction, for affluent collectors, will take place online via Bonhams and will conclude alongside the Laureus Charity Night in Zurich on October 19.
All proceeds will go to the Laureus foundation’s fundraising efforts, which uses sport to help children lead positive, self-determined lives, regardless of gender, background, religion, social status, or health limitations.
