Kimi Antonelli’s father in minor accident involving traffic officer. Marco Antonelli, father of F1 driver Kimi Antonelli, was involved in a minor accident hitting a traffic officer.

Marco Antonelli, the father of F1 driver Kimi Antonelli, was recently involved in a minor accident, colliding with a traffic officer on duty. Here’s a detailed look at what happened.

Antonelli’s father faces investigation, but case closed

Marco Antonelli caused a minor road incident during the weekend of the Imola Grand Prix, a sensitive time for his son, who recently renewed his contract with Mercedes for 2026. A judge opened an investigation, but it was ultimately closed with no consequences for Antonelli’s negligence.

The incident caught on camera

Surveillance footage shared by La Verità shows Antonelli’s black Mercedes approaching a traffic officer providing directions. After a brief exchange, the vehicle turned left, striking the officer’s leg with a wheel. The officer, limping and holding his knee, was assisted by colleagues until medical personnel arrived.

Officer injury and apology

The officer sustained a ligament injury with an estimated recovery time of sixty days. According to Ansa, Marco Antonelli promptly apologized for his actions after the incident. While the accident was serious, it fortunately did not result in more severe consequences for him.
