Jean Todt special guest at the McLaren Technology Centre
Jean Todt was a special guest at the McLaren Technology Centre in the United Kingdom, in a visit that brought together one of Formula 1’s most influential former leaders with the current management of the Woking-based team.
The former FIA president met with McLaren team principal Andrea Stella and Luca Colajanni, the Papaya team’s communications director. During the visit, Jean Todt was given an extensive tour of McLaren’s headquarters, followed by discussions on several major topics shaping the future of Formula 1, including innovation, sustainability, and the broader development of the sport.
One of the central themes of the discussions was also the Safe and Affordable Helmets project, a global initiative launched by the FIA and strongly supported by Jean Todt during and after his leadership of the governing body.
The programme is focused on developing and distributing high-quality motorcycle helmets at accessible prices, with the goal of significantly reducing the number of fatalities caused by motorcycle accidents worldwide. The initiative reflects Jean Todt’s long-standing commitment to global road safety, an area he has continued to champion well beyond his time at the FIA.
Following the visit, Jean Todt publicly thanked McLaren in a message shared on X, writing: “For the warm welcome and hospitality.”
