Isack Hadjar: Talent and Ambition
In 2025, RB will once again serve as Red Bull’s junior team, dedicated to developing young talents. While in recent years at least one seat was occupied by a driver either discarded by the main team or with more experience (such as Daniel Ricciardo), this season the Faenza-based squad will field Yuki Tsunoda and Isack Hadjar—two drivers Red Bull has its eyes on, though with different paths to potentially earning a promotion.
Despite being a rookie, Isack Hadjar arguably has a better shot at moving up than Yuki Tsunoda, given that Red Bull’s partnership with Honda ends after 2025. Promoting a driver closely tied to the Japanese manufacturer—especially one previously overlooked in favor of Liam Lawson, who only has 11 Grands Prix under his belt—would make little sense for the Milton Keynes-based team.
Isack Hadjar’s comments
Isack Hadjar is also a highly ambitious driver. Not only will he be competing for a spot over Lawson, but his ultimate goal is to win at the highest level after coming close to the F2 title last season: “My goal isn’t to be champion in F2, but to become Formula 1 world champion, so I’m fine with how things turned out.”
“The preparation for this season has been really good. I’ve been in Qatar since the start of the year, and everything is going very well,” he said during the livery reveal on Tuesday, February 18. “I’m in shape and ready for F1. Of course, the physical demands are different compared to F2—they’re both very intense in different ways—but I’m definitely prepared. I’ve fought hard to get to F1, and I’m really excited for this challenge. I’m hungry, and I’ll give it my all to put on a great show on track.”
