It’s already a reality! Since Monday, March 3, 2025, the famous engineer Adrian Newey has been working with his new team, Aston Martin, which dreams of being the next team to reach the top of Formula 1 under the guidance of the British genius, following in the footsteps of what he has already achieved with Williams, McLaren, and Red Bull.
After completing his gardening leave, Adrian Newey is now working at the new factory at Silverstone, where he has access to the most advanced technology and will mainly focus on developing the 2026 project, doing one of the things he is most famous for: finding flaws in the new technical regulations.
Although the Briton is already a resource at Silverstone, no images of him in the factory had emerged until Thursday, March 6, 2025, but the team welcomed him on social media with an interesting image showing him standing next to a drawing table, where the 66-year-old veteran engineer often sketches his creations and design ideas.
“Welcome to the team, Adrian,” says the message from a team that has invested heavily to secure his talent, both financially and in terms of responsibility within the technical team.
Arriving at Silverstone just before the start of the new 2025 season and with pre-season testing already underway, Adrian Newey still has time to give some advice to the engineers on how to improve the performance of the AMR25. However, his main focus and objective are clear: to start strong in the 2026 Formula 1 season.
While awaiting the arrival of Enrico Cardile from Ferrari, Adrian Newey is currently in charge of the Aston Martin project for 2026 on the technical side, so it’s expected he will have little time to adapt to the team before starting to work at full capacity, as from January 1 he has been allowed to work on the new regulations that will come into effect next year, and no one will miss what almost everyone calls “the best opportunity in recent years.”
