Criticism continues to pour in for Lando Norris, whose approach seems insufficient to win the World Championship.
Despite McLaren consistently having the fastest car on the track, Lando Norris’s chances of winning the title are dwindling. The British driver once again lost out in the challenge against Max Verstappen, with the points gap in the standings continuing to widen.
According to many experts, Lando Norris has not yet reached the level of maturity needed to fight all the way to the end against a driver like Verstappen. The Dutchman, despite Red Bull being off the pace in recent weeks, has managed to minimize damage on several occasions, even gaining points over his rival.
After Alain Prost, it’s Gian Carlo Minardi’s turn
Gian Carlo Minardi also shared his thoughts on Lando Norris’s chances of winning the World Championship. “The month-long break has benefited Red Bull. Max Verstappen doesn’t make mistakes, and the car continues to perform well,” the president of the Imola Circuit said on Motorsport.com’s YouTube channel. “The points advantage Max has puts him in a relatively safe position, especially since I don’t think the two McLaren drivers are ready to handle the pressure of the moment. Max Verstappen remains the man to beat.” – he added.
Gian Carlo Minardi also spoke about the issues Lando Norris faced at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, where yet another pole position wasn’t converted into a win. “Norris once again struggled with starting from pole position,” the Italian businessman said. “When you’re fighting to win, being fast over a single lap is one thing, but controlling a race is another. I hope this doesn’t remain a problem for him in the future. McLaren struggled with having the fastest car and made several strategic errors. Norris needs to start thinking differently if he wants to become a winning driver,” Gian Carlo Minardi concluded following the United States Grand Prix.
