The disappointing Singapore Grand Prix may have put an end to Ferrari’s constructors’ championship hopes, but team principal Fred Vasseur continues to believe and announces the news everyone wanted to hear: there will be new updates in Austin.
Ferrari’s world championship ambitions seem to have ended with Carlos Sainz’s crash in Singapore, but Frederic Vasseur remains undeterred and announces new updates ahead of the United States Grand Prix in Austin. The development package, which should represent the last of the season, will precede the Maranello team’s complete focus shift to the 2025 Formula 1 car.
Successfully maximizing the new components would allow the engineers in Maranello to build a solid foundation for next year. The transition season will be the first with Lewis Hamilton as Charles Leclerc’s teammate, and failing to provide both with a competitive car for the championship would be a huge waste of potential.
Frederic Vasseur’s comments:
The team principal of the Scuderia, Fred Vasseur, has decided to officially announce the last update package: “We all know that we have already started developing the car for next year, and we are working hard to make significant progress. Our goal is to bring small but important updates to the car. I believe this will probably be the last update, at least as far as we are concerned, but I can’t say the same for the other teams.” – the French manager explained ahead of the United States Grand Prix.
The Frenchman knows that the gaps have become minimal: “The competition has really become tight, not only looking at today’s race but also observing what has happened in the last four, five, six races. If you look closely at the starting grid, you’ll notice how close everything is.” – Fred Vasseur added.
The Ferrari team boss concluded by demonstrating that he knows every detail is now crucial: “Every single detail can make a huge difference. In such a competitive context, even the slightest improvement can have a significant impact.”
