Fernando Alonso’s 2024 F1 season summarized in one rating: is age catching up?. The most fitting adjective to describe Fernando Alonso's 2024 is, quite likely, anonymous.

Fernando Alonso, 2024 F1

The most fitting adjective to describe Fernando Alonso’s 2024 is, quite likely, anonymous. Let’s assess his performance together.

A year not typical of Fernando Alonso: what now?
At the start of the season, the Spaniard secured 24 points in the first four race weekends—a tally equal to Lance Stroll’s total over the entire championship.

However, from mid-season onward, the car no longer allowed him to shine as he has throughout his career. With Adrian Newey now joining the team, the future looks promising, but one question remains: is Fernando Alonso still capable of fighting for significant results?

Age catches up with everyone, and on the Formula 1 grid, especially for the veteran Fernando, now 43. Yet, its effects are not visible on track.

Fernando Alonso has proven—perhaps especially in 2024—that he can still make a difference just as he did in his “younger” days.

Overall, his season can be rated as satisfactory, but it leaves one certainty: if he has the right car, he can still compete at the top level.
