Fernando Alonso has already set his goals for the 2025 Formula 1 season: the Spanish driver has experienced one of his most challenging seasons since joining Aston Martin. After the 2023 season, where the British team found itself on the podium several times with Fernando Alonso, the scenario changed significantly in the following season, with a car that fell short of expectations. Despite a difficult 2024, the Spaniard finished the championship in ninth place, which is the first position in the “second group” of the grid.
A result that may bring a smile to Fernando on one hand, but on the other, the desire to return to the top of the standings is strong. Here are the words of the Spaniard to the RacingNews365 portal about the 2024 season and his good intentions for the upcoming year: “It’s hard to be certain, but I think we didn’t manage to improve the car much throughout the season. At the beginning, we struggled to maintain consistency in performance, and we often had difficulty getting into Q3,” he said. “But at the same time, all these difficulties are probably teaching us many lessons, which we will apply to the 2025 car. This will probably be the biggest positive aspect of the second half of the year, that even though we weren’t able to bring much performance to the car, I think we gained a clear understanding of what we are struggling with and what we need to improve. So, this will be addressed in 2025,” the former McLaren and Scuderia Ferrari driver concluded.
