Fernando Alonso sends warning to Aston Martin after tough race in Austin. Fernando Alonso warned Aston Martin after finishing tenth at the United States GP.

Fernando Alonso, 2024 F1

After the 2025 United States Grand Prix, Fernando Alonso sent a strong warning to Aston Martin. The Spanish driver finished in tenth place, earning just one point but also revealing growing concerns about the team’s performance. His battle with Liam Lawson, which ended with only three seconds between them, highlighted a worrying truth for Aston Martin.

According to Alonso, the Racing Bulls showed much stronger pace. “It was a very hard point to earn. We didn’t have the rhythm, and Lawson stayed within my DRS for the entire race. That means they were faster than us,” he said after the race.

With only three points separating Aston Martin and Racing Bulls in the Constructors’ standings, the fight for sixth place has intensified. Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar continue to fuel optimism for the Faenza-based team, while Alonso is calling for an immediate reaction from his own squad.

“We struggled more in the race than in any other session this weekend. We need to improve over the final five rounds,” the two-time world champion added. Fernando Alonso also emphasized that Aston Martin is now trailing several of its rivals: “Haas is ahead, Sauber too, and Williams is competing in another category. Today, we were probably the ninth fastest team on track.”

Despite the disappointing performance, Fernando Alonso’s tenth place in Austin provided at least a small consolation. “One point is better than nothing, but we have to do much more if we want to stay ahead of Racing Bulls.”

Looking ahead, Fernando Alonso did not hide his concerns. “On paper, Mexico and Las Vegas will be the worst tracks for us. If we can score one or two points there, it will be a great result.”

Aston Martin leaves Austin with a clear message from its most experienced driver: without immediate progress, Racing Bulls could soon overtake them in the Constructors’ Championship.
