This year, there have been many rumors and uncertainties regarding Red Bull Racing’s drivers, leading to movement among several drivers. Red Bull has now resolved the next issue for the remainder of the season by replacing Daniel Ricciardo with the young Liam Lawson. However, this move means that the New Zealander will no longer be able to continue his role as Red Bull’s third driver, so a replacement must be found.
As reported by Feeder Series, Isack Hadjar, currently second in Formula 2 behind Gabriel Bortoleto, will now take on the role of reserve driver for the team.
The French-Algerian, however, hopes for something more in the 2025 season than just the third driver role. His future now depends on Liam Lawson’s performances at the end of this season. If the results are not up to expectations, Red Bull could decide to replace him with the Formula 2 driver. On the other hand, if Lawson performs well, he could be promoted to the main team in place of Sergio Perez, still leaving Hadjar with the third driver spot. We will have to wait and see what Liam Lawson is capable of with his new Formula 1 car.
