F1 | Kimi Antonelli on Mercedes contract talks: “I have a clear vision for the future” – Belgian GP. Kimi Antonelli confirms confidence in Mercedes amid contract talks.

Kimi Antonelli, Mercedes 2025 F1

Italian driver Kimi Antonelli has opened up about his ongoing contract discussions with Mercedes, expressing confidence in the team and optimism about his long-term future in Formula 1. Speaking during the official press conference ahead of the 2025 Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps, the highly rated rookie addressed the topic of his contract renewal and responded to questions about his future with remarkable composure and maturity—especially for someone of his young age.

Antonelli was asked directly whether he was concerned about securing a contract extension with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team. His response reflected calm assurance and a clear understanding of the situation: “That’s the million-dollar question, but to be honest, I’m not worried. I know the situation, and I understand what the team wants—especially when we look at the future.”

The young Italian driver, who has been seen as one of Mercedes’ brightest prospects for several years, also spoke about his strong working relationship with his teammate George Russell and the positive dynamics within the Brackley-based team. Antonelli emphasized that the collective effort is focused on bringing Mercedes back to the front of the grid after a challenging period in recent seasons.

“We’re a strong team,” he said. “We work well together and we’re doing our best to bring the team back to the level of performance it truly deserves.”

Kimi Antonelli also highlighted the supportive and high-energy atmosphere within the team environment, noting that every visit to the Mercedes factory reinforces his belief in the direction they are heading. “Every time I return to the factory, I can feel the energy. Everyone is pushing—not just for this season but already looking ahead to the next. That kind of motivation really stands out,” he said.

As the press conference concluded, Kimi Antonelli once again reiterated his confidence in Mercedes’ management and the collaborative process guiding his future. “I’m convinced the team knows what’s best for everyone involved. I have a clear and positive vision for continuing our journey together,” he added.

For fans and supporters of the young talent, these statements offer a strong signal that an official announcement regarding his contract extension with Mercedes may be just around the corner. Kimi Antonelli’s composure and trust in the project suggest that the future of the Mercedes junior looks very much aligned with the team’s long-term plans.
