F1 | Daniel Ricciardo hails Max Verstappen’s extraordinary skill. Daniel Ricciardo praises Max Verstappen as “ridiculous” for his incredible performances.

Daniel Ricciardo, 2024 F1

Daniel Ricciardo recently spoke about Formula 1, praising Max Verstappen as “ridiculous” for his ability to make this season so exciting. After Verstappen’s performance in Austin, Daniel Ricciardo stated that the Dutch driver is so skilled that it almost seems unfair. “He’s really making this championship even more thrilling,” he commented.

Verstappen’s chase of the McLaren drivers is becoming increasingly concrete, with the gap to the championship leader now reduced to 42 points, down from over 100 just a few races ago. With a maximum of 33 points earned during the Texas Sprint weekend, Verstappen now only needs two wins in the remaining five Grands Prix to catch up with Oscar Piastri.

Ricciardo noted that Piastri has faced a challenging period in recent races, while still defending his first F1 World Championship. Meanwhile, the gap to teammate Lando Norris has also narrowed to just 12 points. Verstappen, however, has performed exceptionally, scoring 64 points more than Piastri in the last four races. The Dutchman’s goal of achieving five consecutive world titles is becoming increasingly realistic.

In a playful comment shared in a WhatsApp group with some fans, Ricciardo reflected on his former teammate’s extraordinary talent. While in Austin for his clothing brand, the ex-F1 driver shared his thoughts during the GP weekend.

The comment from Daniel Ricciardo

Daniel Ricciardo joked that Max Verstappen was even arranging a steak dinner: “Meanwhile, Max is calling the restaurant for his rare steak tonight,” he wrote. “Haha, yes, Max is ridiculous. The guy is so good. Yeah, I’m stating the obvious, I know.”

He continued to praise Max Verstappen, saying, “I mean, Max is really making this championship even more exciting than it already was with Oscar and Lando.”

Beyond Max Verstappen, Daniel Ricciardo also highlighted the strong performance of Yuki Tsunoda, who scored points in both races over the weekend in the USA. “Two days in a row, he’s doing well,” the former driver observed.
