McLaren and Lando Norris celebrate past successes ahead of a new F1 challenge
The Formula 1 world champion Lando Norris and his team McLaren are taking time to commemorate last season’s achievements before preparing for the challenges ahead.
Lando Norris returns to his primary school
Fresh from securing the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship in Abu Dhabi, Lando Norris made a surprise visit to his former primary school, Chew Stoke Church School, near Bristol.
During an assembly with all the students present, Norris shared his experiences, explaining what motivated him throughout his racing career and emphasizing the importance of determination in achieving goals. He answered numerous questions from the children, read stories with them, and awarded winners of a scooter racing competition organized for the occasion, congratulating them at the finish line.
A school spokesperson said that Norris had inspired the students to aim high, dream big, and remember that anything is possible. The school added that they were incredibly grateful for his special visit, describing it as an unforgettable experience for the children and the entire school community.
Former teacher Angela Perrett, who taught Norris in 2004 when he was four years old, recalled that even at that age, Lando Norris loved running around with the other children. Teaching assistant Sue Lewis noted that he had always loved playing with cars and that a classroom ramp used for toy cars was still remembered.
Born in Bristol and raised in Glastonbury, Norris began karting at the age of seven. The visit was an emotional moment for the school, which sees him as a former student who achieved his dreams starting right there, inspiring current students to believe in their own potential. He was presented with a classic Chew Stoke mug and tea towel, symbolic gifts of the school community.
A supercar to celebrate McLaren’s 10th Constructors’ title
Meanwhile, McLaren has celebrated its own milestone. The team unveiled an ultra-exclusive special edition of the Artura Spider, named the MCL39 Championship Edition, created by McLaren Special Operations (MSO) to mark the tenth Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship won by the team in 2025 with the MCL39, driven by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
Production is extremely limited: only 10 units worldwide, all in the Spider (convertible) configuration.
The livery was specially designed in two shades, MSO Bespoke Myan Orange and Onyx Black, hand-painted to mirror the colors of the 2025 championship-winning car. Graphics on the body display the number “10” for the tenth title, accompanied by ten stars and stylized outlines of every McLaren car that has previously won a Constructors’ Championship.
Main features of the McLaren Artura Spider MCL39 Championship Edition
The interior features Alcantara Performance Carbon Black combined with Jet Black Nappa leather, accented with McLaren Orange highlights: embroidered “10” on the headrests, an orange marker at 12 o’clock on the steering wheel, and a dedicated identification plaque. Satin carbon fiber door sills carry the signatures of drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. The car rides on forged Dynamo 10-spoke lightweight black wheels, with Myan Orange brake calipers and a stealth-finished sport exhaust.
In the luggage compartment, a personalized plaque lists the complete 2025 season achievements, including wins, pole positions, and fastest laps, while each owner will receive an exclusive championship memorabilia item.
Mechanically, the car retains the base specifications of the Artura Spider: a 700-horsepower twin-turbo V6 hybrid engine, with no significant performance modifications from the standard model. The focus is entirely on a historical and collectible tribute to McLaren’s F1 success, making it a rare collector’s piece for select customers who want a tangible part of the brand’s recent Formula 1 history.
