Yuki Tsunoda has responded to Ollie Bearman’s accusations regarding his driving during both the Sprint and the main race of the 2025 United States Grand Prix in Austin. The Red Bull driver firmly denied having made any errors in his overtaking maneuvers. “I don’t think I moved under braking,” Yuki Tsunoda said. “It was just a bit unlucky how things unfolded at that stage of the race, especially because we were having a great battle up to that point.”
Tsunoda also replied to Bearman’s criticism about his defensive moves against Charles Leclerc, even though the two were not directly fighting for position. “I’ve never had any problem with him [Charles Leclerc], but Bearman seems to think I have issues with other drivers,” stated the Japanese driver, clearly standing by his actions. “I was defending my position from Charles, who wasn’t even in the same race situation as me. That kind of criticism doesn’t make much sense — I’m simply driving to get the best result possible.”
Referring to the incident at Turn 1 during Saturday’s Sprint Race, Yuki Tsunoda clarified his point of view: “We’re racing, right? I was completely in control, no lock-ups, and I was perfectly alongside. I’m not his teammate, I’m just fighting to stay in the top 10 or higher, so I think it was fine.”
For his part, Oliver Bearman admitted that he does not plan to continue discussing Yuki Tsunoda’s driving style, saying that he sees little chance of any change. “I won’t talk to him about the way he drives, because I don’t think he’s going to change,” said the Haas driver after the race weekend in Austin.
