Williams has unveiled a special livery ahead of the F1 Grand Prix in Austin, marking a nostalgic return to the colors of 2002. The British team is aiming to consolidate an already positive momentum: following the podium finish in Azerbaijan, Williams secured another Top 10 finish in Singapore. Sitting fifth in the Constructors’ Championship, with a 30-point lead over Racing Bulls, the team’s target is fully within reach.
Williams’ 2025 season, the third under the leadership of James Vowles, has so far been a success. The first half of the season exceeded expectations. From Saudi Arabia to Monaco, both Williams drivers consistently reached the points in four consecutive races—a feat not achieved since 2016, when Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa managed to finish in the Top 10 in the first five Grands Prix of the season.
In Azerbaijan, Carlos Sainz also claimed his first podium of the season, marking his first with the British team. Before him, George Russell had achieved a podium in the controversial 2021 Belgian Grand Prix, finishing only behind Max Verstappen.
Williams celebrates its heritage with a special Austin livery
For the Austin Grand Prix, Williams will race with a special livery celebrating its partnership with Atlassian. The colors recall the FW24, the car that finished second in the Constructors’ Championship in 2002, behind Ferrari.
With Juan Pablo Montoya and Ralf Schumacher behind the wheel, the Grove team secured first and second place in Malaysia that year. By the end of the season, Montoya had seven podiums, one more than his teammate, highlighting a remarkable campaign for the Colombian driver.
