After a season below expectations, Aston Martin has decided to reorganize its leadership structure in the F1 team. This includes the immediate replacement of Mike Krack, who will be succeeded by Andy Cowell as the new CEO and Team Principal of Aston Martin.
The Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team is undergoing a transformation to aim for the world championship title. The managerial reshuffle aims to streamline operations and maximize performance, with the clear objective of turning the team into a winning force in Formula 1. Andy Cowell will take on the dual roles of CEO and Team Principal effective immediately. Cowell will oversee the aerodynamics, engineering, and performance departments, ensuring that all teams work synergistically to achieve the best results. The new structure is designed for clearer and more direct management.
“I have spent the last three months understanding and evaluating our performance,” commented Cowell. “I have been incredibly impressed by the dedication, commitment, and hard work of this team. With the completion of the AMR Technology Campus and the transition to a full works team in 2026, alongside our strategic partners Honda and Aramco, we are on track to becoming a championship-winning team. These organizational changes are a natural evolution of the multi-year plans we have put in place, and I am incredibly excited about the future.”
On the track, Mike Krack will take on the role of Chief Trackside Officer. Mike Krack, who has been Team Principal since 2022, will focus exclusively on the car’s performance during Grand Prix weekends, translating the potential of the car into points and podiums. At the team’s technological hub, the AMR Technology Campus, Enrico Cardile will step into the role of Chief Technical Officer. Former Ferrari technical director Enrico Cardile will lead the development of the cars, overseeing design, architecture, and construction. His team will work to create cutting-edge cars capable of competing at the highest levels.
Tom McCullough, a long-standing team leader, remains in a strategic role. He will be a key figure in expanding the team into other motorsport categories. With 11 years of experience and nine recent podium finishes, McCullough continues to be a central figure at Aston Martin.
This reorganization reinforces the team’s long-term vision. Each role has been redefined to ensure a more agile and competitive structure. Aston Martin is targeting concrete results by leveraging the talent and expertise of its leaders.
