F1 | Racing Bulls 2026: Lawson targets the season while Lindblad prepares for F1 debut
Racing Bulls have unveiled the car that will compete in the 2026 Formula 1 season, driven by rookie Arvid Lindblad and Liam Lawson. The Faenza-based team enters a new era of F1 with a partnership with Ford, which contributed to the production of the power unit. Beyond the new livery, the drivers shared their first impressions of the car.
The team has scheduled a filming day next week, before heading to Barcelona for the first pre-season testing sessions. The 200 kilometers to be covered at the Imola circuit are aimed at verifying that all components function perfectly and to get an initial feel for the car on track.
Liam Lawson shares his first impressions
Liam Lawson, who will share the garage with Arvid Lindblad in 2026, spoke about his excitement ahead of the new season with Racing Bulls. The event in Detroit also showcased Red Bull’s livery, highlighting the connection between the two teams.
“It’s definitely going to be a completely new season, with new opportunities. First of all, we need to see how fast the car really is. It looks quick, and we hope it proves that on track,” said the New Zealander. “Presenting the 2026 livery here in Detroit makes it even more special. The history of innovation in this place reflects what the team is building for the future.”
Racing Bulls will use power units produced by Red Bull Powertrains and Ford. This partnership is perhaps the most interesting aspect as the team approaches the new season. “The collaboration between Red Bull and Ford, the energy around the team, and the ambitions for what’s ahead make it incredibly exciting to be part of VCARB. I’m more motivated than ever to turn this vision into results on track,” Liam Lawson added.
Arvid Lindblad ready for Formula 1 debut
The young driver completed his first season in Formula 2 in 2025. His performances convinced Red Bull to promote him from the Driver Academy to Racing Bulls. Last season, Arvid Lindblad drove an F1 car in TPC tests and some free practice sessions, but his official debut as a race driver will happen this year.
“This moment is honestly surreal,” Arvid Lindblad said. “Being introduced as a Formula 1 driver at such an event is something I’ll never forget. I’m ready to learn and give my all on track.”
“I’m really excited to make my F1 debut. I can’t wait,” added the youngest driver on the 2026 grid. “Reaching Formula 1 has always been my goal. Seeing this dream come true is something I’ve always worked toward. I can’t wait to get started,” concluded the British driver.
The Detroit launch signals a coming-of-age for the Racing Bulls, moving away from its “junior team” identity to become a central pillar of the Red Bull-Ford technical alliance. By pairing the hungry, experienced Liam Lawson with a generational talent like Arvid Lindblad, the team is positioning itself to be a disruptor in the 2026 regulatory shift. While Liam Lawson focuses on the performance potential of the new Power Unit, Arvid Lindblad’s transition from a standout 2025 F2 campaign to the VCARB seat will be one of the most closely watched rookie journeys in years, especially as he navigates the steep learning curve of active aerodynamics and hybrid management alongside the most experienced grid in F1 history.
