F1 | Albon engaged: the announcement arrives on social media
There are now two engaged drivers on the 2026 Formula 1 grid. Alex Albon has officially announced his engagement to Lily Muni He, sharing the happy news with fans through social media.
Wonderful news is coming from the paddock. Alex Albon has decided to take the big step in his personal life, and his girlfriend Lily Muni He has said yes. The future newlyweds revealed their engagement with a post that quickly attracted attention and warm reactions from fans across the motorsport world.
As happened with Charles Leclerc a few months ago, the Thai driver chose social media to share the joyful moment. The Williams driver, who wears car number 23, met the professional golfer online in 2019. Since then, Lily Muni He has been a familiar presence in the Formula 1 paddock, attending numerous races and often being spotted in the team’s hospitality area, always elegant and smiling.
Born in 1999, Lily Muni He is originally from China and was introduced to golf at a very young age. By the age of five, she was already competing at a high level. After moving first to Vancouver and later to San Diego, she followed a clear path toward a professional career and achieved her goal in 2017. Two years later, she met the man who will soon become her husband.
It has been an outstanding start to the year for Alex Albon, who is also aiming to fight at the front with Williams thanks to the new technical regulations that will come into effect from the Melbourne round. The combination of professional ambition and personal happiness makes this period particularly special for the British-Thai driver.
Albon set to marry
After seven years together, Alex Albon asked Lily Muni He to marry him. With a social media post, the engaged couple shared the news with all their fans, receiving thousands of congratulatory messages from the Formula 1 community and beyond.
There are now two drivers preparing for marriage, as Charles Leclerc is also set to marry Alexandra Saint Mleux in the near future. At the moment, only two drivers on the grid are already married, Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez. However, more happy announcements could arrive in the future, with several drivers having been in long-term relationships, such as George Russell, while Max Verstappen has recently become a father.
Leclerc himself had jokingly put pressure on the Williams driver during the Brazilian Grand Prix weekend, showing him his ring and saying, “I’ve put you under pressure now.” Just three months after that joke, Alex Albon and Lily Muni He confirmed their engagement with a photo on Instagram. “I think we’re stuck with each other now ❤️😊” reads the caption under the post.
