Arvid Lindblad has revealed the guidance he received from Racing Bulls management after his promotion to the Formula 1 team for the 2026 season. The 18-year-old, stepping into the seat previously held by Isack Hadjar, spoke about how team leaders prepared him for the challenges ahead.
“The advice [from my bosses Alan Permane and Peter Bayer] was that things will be difficult. I shouldn’t be naive,” Lindblad told Formula 1. The young British driver also highlighted the significance of the step up to Formula 1 and expressed his determination to face it head-on.
“I am very aware that this will be a huge challenge. It will be a real step up in level. I have a lot of work to do over the next few months before Barcelona,” he admitted. Despite the anticipated difficulties, Arvid Lindblad remains optimistic about the learning opportunities that lie ahead, both for himself and for the team.
“Even during all the testing and the early part of the season, there will be a lot to learn to get up to speed. From the team’s side, it’s the same, because many things will be new. We’ll need to learn and develop together,” he concluded.
Arvid Lindblad makes the leap to Formula 1 after an outstanding Formula 2 season, which cemented him as one of the youngest race winners in the sport’s history. The 18-year-old will join Liam Lawson at Racing Bulls for the upcoming 2026 season.
The transition from Formula 2 to a full-time seat at Racing Bulls is never easy, but Arvid Lindblad seems to be approaching his debut with the maturity of a much older driver. By acknowledging the “no-nonsense” advice from Alan Permane and Peter Bayer, the young Briton is positioning himself to handle the psychological pressure that often breaks Red Bull junior drivers. As the 2026 technical regulations reset the playing field for everyone, Lindblad’s willingness to “learn and develop together” with his team could be the key factor in his survival. In an era where rookies are under more scrutiny than ever, his grounded perspective suggests that while he may be young, he is far from naive about the world he is entering.
