After several difficult Formula 1 seasons, in 2024, Haas, thanks in part to the help of Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen, has managed to lay solid foundations for the future. The American team has scored thirty-one points in the first eighteen races of the season and currently sits in seventh place in the Constructors’ Championship, just three points behind Racing Bulls.
However, the team led by Ayao Komatsu will have a completely new lineup next season. Esteban Ocon and Ferrari junior Oliver Bearman will replace Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen, with the Brit already having worked with his future team. In addition to some practice sessions, Ferrari Driver Academy member Ollie Bearman was able to participate in the entire weekend in at the Baku city circuit in Azerbaijan when he substituted for the suspended Kevin Magnussen.
Nico Hulkenberg has no doubts about the future
Despite his imminent departure, Nico Hulkenberg shared some kind words about Haas’s future. “I think the team is really well-organized now,” the German stated. “I believe we’ve already seen progress made during the last winter on several occasions. It’s undoubtedly a combination of factors, from partners to budget and everything else.” – he added.
“I can’t say what will happen in the future, but I have heard that there will be updates that I believe will help the team. For this reason, I think Haas will be able to compete for something significant in the coming years, especially in 2025, as the regulations will not change. 2026 will be an unknown for everyone, but that will make everything more unpredictable and interesting,” Nico Hulkenberg concluded.
