In the Austin press conference, Carlos Sainz spoke about his future team, but he intends to focus 100% on Ferrari until Abu Dhabi.
Carlos Sainz is already talking like a Williams driver
He’s wearing the red suit, but he knows he’ll have to take it off at the end of December to wear Williams’ blue. It’s naturally Carlos Sainz, who returned refreshed from an unusual autumn vacation (where he kept fit cycling with Slovenian star Tadej Pogacar) and arrived in Austin fully charged for both his last races with Ferrari and for the future that awaits him at Grove.
Carlos Sainz’s comments
Carlos Sainz spoke about Williams during the Austin press conference: “I can’t wait to take on this challenge next year. First of all, it’s nice to see how much they have improved recently and how often the car is scoring points in the last races.” – the Ferrari driver pointed out ahead of the United States GP.
“In conversations with James (Vowles, ed.), we talked a lot about this year, how much the team would improve, and what position it would be in by 2025. So far, he has kept his word and met his expectations, which you can never be sure of with updates in Formula 1. The team seems to have made steps in the right direction.” – he added.
However, the Spaniard wants to focus on the end of the season, where he will still be a key player for Ferrari: “I have a job to finish this year with a car that has the potential to allow me to win a race or secure a couple more podiums. And I want to maximize this opportunity to see if I can help the team finish as high as possible in the Constructors’ Championship and, of course, give myself the great gift of a nice podium or a victory.” – Carlos Sainz concluded.
