Everything is set for Williams and Carlos Sainz, with the first filming day planned for the team’s new F1 car. The Spaniard joins Grove after four seasons with Ferrari. He faces the challenging task of bringing the English team back to the front of the grid after years of struggles and slow progress. He will have the support of a growing team, led by the experienced James Vowles.
On the day of Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari debut, significant news has also emerged about the departing Ferrari driver. Carlos Sainz, who delivered four outstanding years with the Scuderia, has bid farewell to Maranello to move to England. His new chapter begins with Williams, alongside Alexander Albon and James Vowles, as he aims to return to fighting for podiums and victories.
It’s no easy task for Sainz, but he has already garnered some positive predictions. Jacques Villeneuve, the 1995 world champion with Williams, expressed confidence in the #55: “The surprise of 2025? I can’t wait to see Carlos Sainz at Williams. His first test in Abu Dhabi was impressive. He could enable the team to make an extraordinary leap forward.”
