Red Bull continues its search for Max Verstappen’s successor, giving a rising star from its Junior Team a chance during the F1 weekend at Silverstone.
The team is laying the groundwork for the future with the F1 debut of Arvid Lindblad in FP1 at Silverstone. Red Bull’s hunt for Verstappen’s potential replacement is ongoing in Milton Keynes. The rotation between Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda hasn’t delivered the desired results, with the Japanese driver still far from challenging at the front. Looking ahead, the team sees long-term potential in Isack Hadjar and Arvid Lindblad.
There’s turbulence in Milton Keynes, where Red Bull’s present and future are tightly intertwined. For now, the team’s hopes remain firmly pinned on Max Verstappen. The Dutch driver is still within striking distance of the McLaren duo and remains the only one capable of fully exploiting the complex RB21. However, should Verstappen leave the team at the end of the season—or face suspension—Red Bull would need to act swiftly.
Liam Lawson has already had his shot, and Yuki Tsunoda is trying to prove himself, but neither appears to be central to the long-term plans of Christian Horner and Helmut Marko. Isack Hadjar could be a better bet, provided he’s given enough time to develop at Faenza. Meanwhile, from Red Bull’s always promising driver academy, a new name has emerged, already prepared for his F1 debut.
Arvid Lindblad to Make F1 Debut at Silverstone
The news comes directly from Helmut Marko, speaking to Kleine Zeitung. Arvid Lindblad will make his Formula 1 debut during FP1 at Silverstone, just days after earning his Super Licence. The young British driver, currently third in the Formula 2 championship following wins in Saudi Arabia and Spain, will be on track—though it’s still unclear which car he will drive.
“We also had agreements with another driver, who already serves as a reserve for another team, but it’s always difficult to find someone ready to step in,” explained Marko, emphasizing the importance of having a backup ready in case Max Verstappen faces suspension.
