F1 2024, only the Constructors’ title remains
Lando Norris’s great comeback, which began with his victory in Miami, ultimately hit the Verstappen wall. In Las Vegas, the world champion sealed his fourth title with yet another solid performance, maximizing the car’s potential—a consistency that Norris, often too emotional and erratic, has struggled to achieve at the highest level.
There is no doubt that Verstappen deserved his fourth championship, achieved through an initial period of dominance followed by occasionally aggressive but necessary defenses of his lead. Despite all the controversies stemming from the American triple-header in Austin, Mexico City, and Interlagos, McLaren team principal Andrea Stella acknowledged that the Dutchman was the strongest driver of the season.
Andrea Stella’s comments
“We congratulated Max even when he won in Brazil. He is one of the best drivers in Formula 1 history,” said Andrea Stella. “This is a well-deserved title. The best driver won the championship. Now, we focus on next year for the Drivers’ Championship and on this end of the season for the Constructors’ Championship, which is still open.”
“Max is both fast and consistent. Even when, in 2023, he was winning race after race, people thought it was easy. But winning races is never easy, even when it looks like it is,” he continued. “Hats off to Verstappen and congratulations to Red Bull for supporting this incredible driver. We are proud to have challenged him this season. We just lost a few too many points early on, but we were on pace later. Hopefully, this is just the groundwork for a new World Championship challenge in 2025.”
