Alain Prost severely criticized Lando Norris, explaining what the British driver lacks to become a champion in F1.
After the United States Grand Prix weekend at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Lando Norris’ chances of winning the F1 world championship at the end of the season are growing slimmer. The Briton lost more points to Max Verstappen and once again didn’t seem ready to fight for the title until the end.
Lando Norris is currently 57 points behind the Red Bull driver with five races (and two Sprint Races) left in the season. Mathematically, there’s still a chance to close the gap, but it seems unlikely that the McLaren driver will have the strength to do so.
On several occasions, most recently at the start in Austin, the British driver has shown that he still needs to improve in certain areas before he can challenge an experienced driver like Max Verstappen for the Formula 1 title.
Alain Prost harsh on the Brit
Alain Prost also weighed in on the F1 title fight between Lando Norris and Max Verstappen. The four-time world champion did not mince words when describing what he’s seen in recent weeks. “If we take Lewis Hamilton, he can go on track and win a championship on his own,” said the Frenchman – “In Lando Norris’ case, it’s different. He needs the best car and team orders to fight for the title. Even then, he would still fail. He’s useless,” Alain Prost added following the events which took place in the United States Grand Prix.
