Adrian Newey to rejoin Formula 1 action with Aston Martin in Monaco. Adrian Newey will return to the F1 paddock at the Monaco Grand Prix.

Adrian Newey, 2024 F1

Adrian Newey, the number one engineer in Formula 1, is set to return to the paddock this week at the Monaco Grand Prix. The confirmation comes directly from him.

Last year, in the midst of the driver market frenzy, two teams in particular fought fiercely to secure the services of Adrian Newey. The British mastermind was on his way out of Red Bull, where he had cemented his legacy in recent years. He was courted by Ferrari, eager to add another star to their project alongside Hamilton, and by Aston Martin, with Lawrence Stroll sparing no expense to build a top-tier team ahead of the new engine regulations in 2026. Ultimately, Newey chose the British outfit, which allowed him to remain in his old home without relocating to Italy. Since his “green” announcement, he had disappeared from the paddock for a while to settle into his new team. But now, everything is set for his F1 return: Adrian Newey will be present at the Monaco GP.

Adrian Newey Confirms His Return
In an interview released on Aston Martin’s official channels, AdrianNewey confirmed he will attend this race weekend. “See you in Monaco,” said the British engineer, “always with my notebook,” referring to the iconic notebook that has long been his faithful companion. In the same interview, he had mentioned that he wasn’t personally involved in the development of this year’s car, but his presence in Monaco might suggest otherwise.

Perhaps his choice to return now, just a week ahead of major updates, is driven by a desire to see firsthand how the car’s new features perform. With one eye on next year as well, the aim could be to collect data, feedback, and issues from the drivers to bring back to Silverstone and already start enhancing the 2026 car. The choice of Monaco could also be due to it being the most glamorous and luxurious GP of the season. There is great anticipation in the paddock for Newey’s return. Now it’s just a matter of days before we see the British engineer again, notebook in hand, and discover what impact he will have at Aston Martin during the weekend.
