Zak Brown responds to Max Verstappen speculation with clear McLaren stance. McLaren closes the door on Max Verstappen move, says Zak Brown.

McLaren CEO Zak Brown

McLaren CEO Zak Brown has firmly dismissed speculation linking Max Verstappen with a future move to the reigning Formula 1 world champions, making it clear that he has complete confidence in the team’s current driver line-up.

Speaking during the FIA press conference at Silverstone, Zak Brown was asked about the persistent rumours surrounding a possible move for the four-time World Champion. His response left little room for interpretation, as he reiterated his faith in both Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.

“They’re just rumours. There haven’t been any conversations,” Zak Brown said. “I don’t usually talk about my dinners, but last night I had dinner with Nigel Mansell, which was really nice. He has won this race several times.”

Brown then turned his attention to McLaren’s current drivers, making it clear that the team has no reason to look elsewhere.

“I’m very happy with my two race drivers, Lando and Oscar. I think whenever Max’s name comes up, everyone gets excited because he’s a four-time World Champion. But I’m very happy with our driver line-up.”

Zak Brown’s comments appear to put an end—at least publicly—to any speculation over Verstappen joining McLaren, with the American executive once again expressing his full confidence in Norris and Piastri as the team continues its Formula 1 title defence.
