Yuki Tsunoda is fully aware that his future in Formula 1 will depend on his results and his ability to support Max Verstappen in the fight for the World Championship.
The Japanese driver spoke openly about his F1 future, outlining the steps he must take to secure a place in the Red Bull family for 2026. With the driver market heating up and names like Isack Hadjar, Liam Lawson, and Arvid Lindblad ready to compete for available seats, Yuki Tsunoda knows he must once again prove his worth on track.
In comments given to RacingNews365, Yuki Tsunoda emphasized that the key to securing his future will be consistency in results and contributing to the team’s cause, particularly by supporting Max Verstappen in the drivers’ championship and helping Red Bull in the constructors’ battle.
“I think everything is quite clear,” he explained. “It’s a crucial moment for the team and for the championship. I have to keep scoring points and supporting the team every weekend. That’s something Red Bull drivers have often lacked in recent years.”
After a difficult start to the season, Yuki Tsunoda seems to have regained his rhythm thanks to updates introduced with the new RB21 floor starting from the Baku GP, where he finished sixth. Since then, the Japanese driver has collected solid results, including two seventh-place finishes in Austin during the Sprint and the main race.
“I’m showing good things in every race,” he added. “I know what I have to do, and the direction is right. The results speak for themselves, I just need to keep going.”
However, his future remains uncertain: with Red Bull apparently leaning toward promoting Isack Hadjar in 2026 and Racing Bulls undergoing a full revamp, Yuki Tsunoda risks being left without a seat if he cannot maintain this upward trajectory in the final races of the season.
