Williams Confirms Its 2025 Ambassadors
Williams has announced the continuation of Jenson Button and Jamie Chadwick as team ambassadors for the 2025 season, along with the addition of Jacques Villeneuve to this select group.
The Canadian remains the last driver to have taken the Grove-based team to the top of the world, following his iconic victory at the 1997 Jerez de la Frontera Grand Prix, marked by the infamous collision with Michael Schumacher. For Villeneuve, this represents a return to Williams, a team he left at the end of 1998 to join the newly formed BAR.
Vowles’ Comments
“It’s a privilege to have Jenson, Jacques, and Jamie with the team for 2025,” said Team Principal James Vowles. “Together, they perfectly embody this iconic team—our rich history, our proud tradition of investing in future champions and expanding access to motorsport, as well as our ambition and determination to make history again. Jenson and Jacques both made their F1 debuts with Williams and went on to become world champions, while Jamie has broken barriers for women in motorsport as a Williams driver and mentor to Lia Block (a driver in the F1 Academy and the Williams Driver Academy). We are delighted to have them as part of the next chapter in Williams’ history.”
Villeneuve’s Comments
“Williams has been a fundamental part of my life, filled with great memories,” Jacques Villeneuve said. “I’m thrilled to be part of the family again and to contribute to celebrating the team’s legacy while supporting its future.”
Button’s Comments
“Williams gave me my first opportunity in Formula 1, and it’s incredible that this year marks 25 years since that debut. Being an ambassador for this team is a privilege, and I’m excited to continue contributing to its legacy and future,” Jenson Button added.
Chadwick’s Comments
“Williams has played a significant role in my career and my journey in motorsport over the past four years,” said Jamie Chadwick. “I’m proud to continue representing the team in 2025, challenging myself to keep growing as a driver and helping mentor the next generation of racers coming through the F1 Academy.”
