The iconic British Formula 1 team has signed a partnership aimed at connecting the world of Japanese animation with the pinnacle of motorsport.
An unprecedented collaboration in F1
UNDONE, Williams F1 Team, and Mainichi Broadcasting System (MBS) have announced a groundbreaking creative collaboration that brings anime into the Formula 1 world for the very first time. The three organizations will create a unique capsule collection, combining the Williams brand with the supernatural chaos of DAN DA DAN, one of the most popular anime series globally.
Statements from the key figures
Robert Tran, Founder of UNDONE: “Bringing together an F1 team with a supernatural anime is the natural evolution of what their fan bases are today. They care about craftsmanship, energy, and things that move at full speed. The overlap between F1 and anime is no longer niche — it’s a culture. UNDONE Lab exists precisely to operate in that space: things that on paper shouldn’t work, but feel inevitable once you hold them in your hands.”
Luke Timmins, Merchandise and Licensing Director at Williams: “Here at Williams, we don’t just follow the crowd: we always aim to break boundaries, try new things, and find creative ways to bring fans along on our journey. This collaboration is the latest example of that ambition. It’s incredible to unite the worlds of anime and Formula 1 for the first time, revealing a new side of Williams while building on the joy and energy of the major Japanese brands DAN DA DAN and UNDONE, ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix.”
Hiroshi Kamei, Producer of DAN DA DAN: “We are truly excited to have the opportunity to collaborate with the historic Williams team. Initiatives that happen for the first time are always thrilling, and we have high expectations for the new possibilities this collaboration will bring. Through this project, we hope to share the unique charm and world of the DAN DA DAN anime TV series with Williams fans, offering a fresh and exciting way to experience the series. We sincerely hope everyone is looking forward to it.”
The partnership between Williams Racing and DAN DA DAN therefore highlights a growing trend of cross-media collaborations within the 2026 Formula 1 season. Based on the content of these official statements, fans can expect a highly stylized collection that bridges the gap between the Suzuka circuit and the world of Japanese animation.
