Verstappen.com Racing prepares for Misano Sprint weekend in GT World Challenge Europe. Verstappen.com Racing heads to Misano for the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup.

Max Verstappen, 2024 F1

Launched in 2022 as a joint initiative between reigning Formula 1 World Champion Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing, the Verstappen.com Racing project continues to expand its presence and ambitions within the world of motorsport. Originally conceived as a platform to help talented sim racers transition from virtual racing environments to real-world competition, the initiative has grown significantly, both in marketing value and in actual on-track results. Following the recent shake-up within the Red Bull Formula 1 team, there have even been intriguing rumors suggesting a potential future expansion of this project into Formula 1 itself—though for now, such ideas remain speculative.

On a more concrete level, Verstappen.com Racing has already made its mark in other disciplines. After participating in the World Rally Championship alongside Jos Verstappen, Max’s father and former F1 driver, the team has officially entered the 2025 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup. Competing with an Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3, the team races under the Gold Cup class, fielding car number 33—a number symbolic of Max Verstappen’s original Formula 1 race number—run in collaboration with the respected British outfit 2 Seas Motorsport.

Behind the wheel, the driving trio features an exciting mix of experience and emerging talent. Thierry Vermeulen, now in his third year with the program, is joined by Chris Lulham, a standout sim racing talent promoted from Team Redline’s virtual racing platform into real-world competition. Completing the lineup is Harry King, a proven champion with a strong track record in the Porsche Carrera Cup.

The 2025 GT World Challenge Europe calendar has already featured prominent circuits such as Paul Ricard, Monza, and Spa-Francorchamps. In the most recent race in Belgium, the Verstappen.com Racing entry achieved a remarkable result, finishing first in the Gold Cup class and ninth overall—a clear demonstration of the team’s competitiveness at the highest level of endurance GT racing.

While Max Verstappen does not actively participate in the races, the Dutch Formula 1 superstar is deeply involved in the program. He frequently attends test sessions, drives the Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 during development runs, and offers hands-on technical feedback to the team. His guidance is especially valuable when it comes to refining car setup and optimizing race strategies, contributing to the growing success of the project.

The next event on the calendar is the upcoming Sprint Cup round at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, scheduled to take place in just a few days. The format will feature two sprint races—Race 1 and Race 2—over the weekend. Following their strong performance at Spa, the team will be aiming to further improve its standings and continue building momentum in the GTWC season.

[Update: While the team’s participation at Misano has been confirmed through post-race comments and the official calendar published on racing.verstappen.com, the team does not currently appear in the official entry list on the championship’s website—an omission that has raised some questions.]

The remainder of the 2025 calendar promises even more excitement, with Endurance Cup rounds scheduled at the Nürburgring and Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, and Sprint Cup races set to take place at Brands Hatch, Zandvoort, Magny-Cours, and Valencia. The GT World Challenge Europe continues to attract a strong field of top-tier machinery, including entries from Lamborghini, Mercedes-AMG, Ferrari, Corvette, Audi, BMW, Porsche, McLaren, and Ford. Elite teams such as AF Corse, Saintéloc Racing, and Grasser Racing Team further enrich the level of competition.

With Verstappen.com Racing making waves both on and off the track, the project is establishing itself as a serious contender in the world of GT racing—and a fascinating chapter in Max Verstappen’s ever-growing motorsport legacy.
