Cadillac: the first race in the United States

The upcoming weekend will have a special meaning for Cadillac. The American team, still at the bottom of the Constructors’ Championship with no points scored so far, will try to move closer to — or even achieve — its first top-10 finish in its history at the Miami Grand Prix. This will also mark its first race in front of its home crowd in the United States.

Bottas’ emotions

A similar opportunity came very close in China for Valtteri Bottas, who finished 13th, achieving not only his best personal result of the season so far, but also the team’s best overall result to date. The progress made by the American outfit, combined with the determination of the Finnish driver, could represent the right mix to bring Cadillac into the points on the Miami street circuit.

“I’m excited to be back in the car, and there is no better place to do it than on home soil for the team,” said the former Mercedes driver. “Being able to represent the Cadillac Formula 1 Team in its first home race is a special moment. I can’t wait to get on track in front of the home crowd and feel their energy. After a solid start to the season, we want to make sure we keep building on everything we have achieved so far. The team has worked hard to bring an upgrade for Miami, so I’m excited to see how it goes with the goal of getting closer to the midfield group.”

New targets with the upgrade

His teammate Sergio Perez is also highly motivated and confident, eager to take another step forward and improve on his best result so far, which is 15th place achieved in China.

“After the race in Japan, I’m energized and ready to get back on track, especially after this break,” said the Mexican driver. “We have made strong progress in the first three races and the upgrade we are bringing to Miami will help us take another step forward. The goal is to reduce the gap to the teams ahead and fight for positions. If we manage to do that, we will gain even more momentum and confidence for this intense part of the year. Being part of the Cadillac Formula 1 Team is a real pleasure: it is a team with big ambitions and a clear path to achieving them.”

In summary, Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez are heading into the Miami Grand Prix with high expectations for Cadillac’s historic first home race. Following a one-month break in the calendar, the team is introducing technical updates designed to propel them toward their first championship points. Both drivers emphasized the unique emotional energy of representing an American brand in Florida and remain focused on closing the gap to the midfield as the 2026 season enters its next phase.
