Testing at Imola: Sauber to join Racing Bulls on track. Racing Bulls will be on track at the Enzo and Dino Ferrari circuit starting tomorrow.

Yuki Tsunoda, 2024 RB

Scheduled at Imola, along the banks of the Santerno, Sauber will be present only on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Racing Bulls will alternate their two main drivers, Yuki Tsunoda and Isack Hadjar, from tomorrow on the AlphaTauri AT04, the 2023 car classified under TPC (Test Previous Cars). On the second day, a C42 from the Hinwil team will also take to the track for Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto.

The Swiss team, like the Faenza team, is initiating a driver training phase in compliance with FIA rules, which this year limit testing to 1,000 km and four days using cars that fall under the ground-effect vehicle regulations.

Both F1 teams will have to contend with adverse weather, which threatens to affect all three days booked at the circuit that will host the Emilia Romagna and Made in Italy GP scheduled from May 16 to 18, the first European race of the season.

The four drivers will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with a challenging track like Imola, especially on wet asphalt. This will be particularly beneficial for Isack Hadjar and Gabriel Bortoleto, rookies promoted from Formula 2.
