With his re-election becoming increasingly complicated, the question arises: who could replace him? Who would be capable of taking on such a role? In recent days, the name of Susie Wolff as FIA president emerged in a report by *Autosprint*.

The FIA vs. the Wolffs: How it began
According to the well-known Italian sports weekly, it all started with the potential conflict of interest case involving Toto and Susie Wolff in December 2023. The Federation launched an investigation, which ultimately led to nothing.

According to *Autosport*, Sulayem became aware of the F1 Academy CEO’s interest in running for the FIA presidency and wanted to reaffirm “who’s in charge” by intimidating the person in question. The matter did not sit well with Wolff, who subsequently took legal action against the Federation.

The F1 Academy managing director claimed that the “baseless accusations” were “rooted in intimidating and misogynistic behavior and focused on my marital status rather than my abilities.”

*PlanetF1* has learned from sources close to Susie Wolff that she has no interest in the FIA presidency. The managing director is fully focused on her work with F1 Academy.
“Probably, Toto Wolff’s role as Mercedes team principal could be seen as a ‘clear obstacle for his wife,’” *PlanetF1* writes, “and for her position within the governing body of F1, given the potential conflict of interest.”

But would it really be so wrong to have a woman as FIA president? This is not about entering a classic feminist debate but rather reflecting on the historical significance it would have. Motorsport has always been a male-dominated world where women have struggled to make their mark.

Only in recent years has Formula 1 begun to expand its horizons, and F1 Academy—formerly W Series—aims primarily to raise awareness and integrate women into motorsport. It is an all-female championship that allows young talents to showcase their skills and hope for career advancement.

A woman leading the FIA would be a historic event that could foster greater inclusivity, provide equal opportunities regardless of gender, and inspire a new generation of women in motorsport.
