Red Bull’s Arvid Lindblad ready for debut: tests at Imola and FP1 expected soon. The young British driver Arvid Lindblad is ready to hit the track with Red Bull .

The young British driver Arvid Lindblad is ready to hit the track with Red Bull at Imola to prepare for his Formula 1 debut, which is set to take place mid-season.

Everything is now in place. Arvid Lindblad, a long-time member of the Red Bull Junior Team, is ready to take to the track at Imola as he prepares for his entry into the top tier of four-wheel motorsport. While nothing has been made official yet, it is now almost certain that he will be racing alongside the other twenty drivers of the F1 grid during this season.

The situation is clear to everyone. Born in 2007, Lindblad has long been on the radar of the Milton Keynes team’s leadership for a potential promotion to Formula 1—first and foremost Helmut Marko. The Austrian was impressed from the very first time he saw him racing karts. Struck by his talent, Marko decided to move him directly from Italian F4 to F3, skipping Formula Regional. It turned out to be the right decision: Lindblad won on debut and became the youngest winner in the history of the category.

This year, in addition to moving up to Formula 2 with the Campos team, Arvid Lindblad has already had a taste of Formula 1. He began using the Racing Bulls simulator and, in February, even got the chance to drive the AT04 on track at Imola.

The final piece of the puzzle came last week. Arvid Lindblad secured the Super Licence that will allow him to race in Formula 1 even before turning 18 (his birthday is on August 8). He’s the first driver to manage that since Max Verstappen.

With this, everything is set, and as reported by Motorsport.com, we won’t have to wait long. Arvid Lindblad will be back on track at the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Circuit in Imola, this time for an important test with Red Bull. Given that all teams are required to run at least two free practice sessions with rookie drivers during the season, his official FP1 debut is now imminent. It will most likely happen first in the Racing Bulls car, and later, possibly, he may take the wheel of the Red Bull, replacing either Max Verstappen or Yuki Tsunoda.
