Max Verstappen skips the F1 Film premiere
While Formula 1 parades on the red carpet for the premiere of the F1 film with Brad Pitt decorating the iconic Times Square in New York, Max Verstappen… continues to snub the social events linked to the release of the first fictional feature film entirely shot in the GP paddock and officially licensed by the championship. So, after already avoiding attending the private premiere for drivers only, held on Wednesday evening before the Monaco GP weekend, the four-time world champion, instead of taking the charter flight with all the world championship protagonists to move from Montreal to New York, preferred to return to Europe.

Max Verstappen took the wheel of an Aston Martin Vantage GT3 branded with his Verstappen.com Racing team colors on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit. A test ahead of a possible participation in endurance races with GT cars, as the Dutchman has never hidden his particular appreciation for this kind of racing with driver changes and has set his sights on a future participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and also at the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
It’s not the first time the world champion has preferred other commitments over watching the F1 film, which he has actually not seen yet. At the private screening for drivers only, he was the only absentee along with Lance Stroll, driving on the simulator live on Twitch from his home during the event. This time, at least it was the call of the “real” track that pushed him to skip. Questioned in Monaco on Thursday during the press conferences, Max Verstappen also downplayed the situation, saying that “the film will be released at the end of June and there is still time to watch it. Maybe I will download it later on Apple TV (the platform that produced it and will stream it after the cinema release).”
