Red Bull heads to Monza
After the Dutch Grand Prix, where Red Bull returned to a level of performance as the second-strongest team, the Austrian outfit now prepares to tackle one of Formula 1’s most iconic venues: Monza. For Max Verstappen, finishing second ahead of the Orange supporters was special, but the Dutch world champion is already focused on Monza, where tyre management will play a crucial role. Yuki Tsunoda, meanwhile, arrives in top form after scoring points in Zandvoort, ready to take on the challenges of Monza.
Expectations for Verstappen and Tsunoda ahead of Monza
Max Verstappen, while pleased with his second-place finish at his home Grand Prix, is focused on improving one key area that did not work perfectly last weekend: tyre management. “Finishing P2 was a good result for us in Zandvoort, and it was great to celebrate in front of my home fans and feel their support. Regarding Monza, it’s a very fast circuit with a rich history and passionate fans. As a team, we need to work on improving certain aspects, especially tyre management. The goal is to perform consistently from qualifying through to the race and maintain strong pace in the long runs, particularly on this track. I enjoy this old-style circuit, and we’ll see what the weekend has in store,” he said.
Yuki Tsunoda, coming off a strong weekend in the Netherlands, is excited for the challenges ahead at one of the most prestigious circuits on the calendar. “Scoring points at Zandvoort last weekend was a real step in the right direction and gave me confidence to be back among the frontrunners. I’m carrying this momentum into Monza, which feels like a home race for me. I live in Italy for part of the year, so it will be nice to enjoy the comforts of home and, of course, the food! The team has already asked me for local tips, and I’ll take the crew out for pizza before the start of the race week. Monza is one of the classic tracks every driver looks forward to. We’ve been making progress race by race, and we’ll keep pushing to improve the car and our performance, hoping to finish the European season on a positive note.”
