Red Bull remains consistent with its aerodynamic philosophy: in Las Vegas, it will use the rear wing previously seen at Monza, featuring a pronounced spoon-shaped main profile, while other teams have preferred an almost flat solution. However, Red Bull’s movable flap has a more trimmed trailing edge compared to the Italian GP version.
The world champion team, perhaps anticipating particularly cold temperatures during the nights in Nevada’s capital, has opted for an aerodynamic configuration that appears more loaded than many competitors. Nonetheless, they have slightly reduced drag with further trimming of the movable element compared to the version used at Monza.
The Milton Keynes team believes it has solved the technical puzzle that allowed Max Verstappen to win the Brazilian GP in Interlagos. The hope is to secure their fourth consecutive world title in the United States, without waiting for the final two rounds of the season.
It is worth noting that Red Bull had not won a race since the Spanish GP, breaking an eleven-race dry spell. In Las Vegas, the RB20 will once again feature the low-drag engine cover, as the team led by Pierre Waché remains the only one to alternate between two engine cover versions, with and without the bazooka exhausts.
