There are data correlation problems at Red Bull. Team principal Christian Horner has been saying it for a while, and lately, world champion Max Verstappen has also supported this claim, giving credibility to his team.
The fact that teams face issues due to their inability to conduct real on-track tests and cannot fully take advantage of modern simulation tools during the design phase (because of the current handicap regulations) is a significant challenge. However, all teams are in the same boat and must find a way to outdo their rivals.
Verstappen: “The car is more sensitive than before”
As reported by ‘Autosport.com,’ Max Verstappen shared his perspective on the issue: “The situation is more complicated than one might think. Compared to previous regulations, the car is more sensitive to the updates that are introduced.” – the Dutch driver explained.
Despite this, the driver does not blame the internal structures: “We know our wind tunnel is outdated, but until last year, we hadn’t encountered any problems. Some things are simply difficult to understand. I think it’s become extremely complex to get everything perfectly right and obtain exactly the data we expect from the upgrades,” the three-time Formula 1 world champion pointed out, reported by the international media ahead of the United States Grand Prix, which will take place after the autumn break at the COTA circuit in Austin.
