Max looks to Qatar: “Some circuits will be better for us”

Max Verstappen eyes Qatar with confidence

Max Verstappen is not settling. Following his victory in Las Vegas, which reignited his championship hopes, the reigning world champion looks ahead to the penultimate round of the season in Qatar with optimism. Backed by two consecutive wins at the Losail Circuit, the Dutch driver aims to close the gap to Lando Norris while confirming Red Bull’s growth during this crucial phase of the championship.

Toward Qatar with confidence

The Las Vegas win allowed Max Verstappen to reduce the deficit to championship leader Lando Norris. This result reshuffled the championship battle, especially considering McLaren’s misstep. Red Bull’s driver heads to Qatar knowing he can exploit a track that has brought him success in recent years.

After a challenging period, Max Verstappen has regained consistency, achieving eight consecutive podiums that mark Red Bull’s return to expected competitiveness. The Dutchman emphasizes that the team has finally reached the standard necessary to fight regularly at the top, although the path to the title remains demanding.

Max Verstappen speaks

The world champion shared his thoughts on his mindset and Red Bull’s prospects: “We will continue trying to win races until the end of the year. Some circuits will probably be a bit better. This one was probably pretty good for us. Qatar could be decent, Abu Dhabi maybe not so much, but we’ll see.”

On the team’s recent progress, he added: “We’ve been more consistent on the podium. In some races, we weren’t in contention to win. I’d say from mid-2024 to mid-2025 we were more often off the podium than on it. Now we’re always fighting for second or third place, but at least we’re on the podium. That’s already a big step forward for us. It should have been like this from the start, obviously, if you really want to fight for the title. Unfortunately, we didn’t manage that at the beginning. But at least now we’re more consistent, and sometimes that’s enough to win.”

Red Bull’s renewed consistency and championship stakes

Max Verstappen’s confidence, combined with Red Bull’s regained solidity, makes the Qatar GP a potentially decisive weekend. The Dutch driver knows that every point counts and that the team’s newfound consistency could be the key weapon in chasing Lando Norris right to the final corner of the season.

McLaren may still have the faster package overall, but Verstappen’s combination of ice-cool racecraft and Red Bull’s renewed reliability means writing him off at this stage would be foolish. Two races, 58 points still available, and a champion who smells blood.

Qatar could be where the 2025 title fight truly ignites again.
