In a gesture that combines sport, solidarity, and historical tribute, the race suits worn by Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda at the 2025 Japanese Grand Prix were auctioned for £83,500. All proceeds were donated to Wings for Life, a foundation dedicated to spinal cord injury research. The auction also marked a special tribute to the Red Bull Racing-Honda partnership, which concludes after years of shared success.
Commemorative livery and charity: a winning combination
The suits, produced in a limited edition featuring a white Honda livery, were auctioned by F1 Authentics and drew attention from collectors and F1 fans worldwide. The entire sum raised was allocated to Wings for Life, representing a significant contribution to vital scientific research.
“We are thrilled to have raised over £80,000 for Wings for Life. These suits celebrate our incredible partnership with Honda and support a cause that is very close to our hearts,” said Laurent Mekies, Red Bull Racing Team Principal.

Emma Hind, CEO of Wings for Life UK, expressed her gratitude for the support received: “Raising £83,500 is an extraordinary achievement. We are grateful to F1 Authentics and Red Bull Racing for their commitment. We look forward to collaborating further.”
The foundation, an official Red Bull partner, funds innovative projects aimed at finding a cure for spinal cord injuries—a mission embraced by the entire team.
Closing a chapter of success and solidarity
Despite the remarkable achievements reached together, the Red Bull-Honda partnership, which delivered four drivers’ championships for Max Verstappen, concludes with this symbolic and charitable gesture. From 2026, Honda will embark on a new venture with Aston Martin, while Red Bull looks to the future with ambition and innovative spirit.
