The official livery launch for Red Bull and Racing Bulls will take place on January 16 in Detroit, at the Ford headquarters.
Red Bull approaches official livery launch
Less than two weeks remain until the official start of the 2026 Formula 1 season, with the first shakedown at Montmeló, and the anticipation among fans is extremely high. Numerous changes are expected this year: the entire philosophy of the cars will evolve, along with updates to the power units and tires, while the drivers will need to adapt to new driving styles. There will also be a new team, Cadillac, making its track debut alongside another major name, Audi, as well as the return of Ford.
The Americans collaborated with Red Bull Powertrains on the creation of the first power unit produced in Milton Keynes. This very synergy inspired the teaser for the livery launch, which will be officially unveiled on Thursday, January 16, during an event in Detroit that will also be attended by GP-News.net.
As seen from Red Bull’s social media post, the date of the event (which concerns only the livery presentation, while the car itself will hit the track during testing) follows the “USA style,” with the month before the day, and echoes Ford’s visual identity, with white text on a blue background. In just 48 hours, fans will discover whether the involvement of the American giant will extend to the car livery itself.
Ford returns to F1 after over 20 years
Ford will make its official return to the Formula 1 Circus after more than two decades, partnering with Red Bull Powertrains on the development of the power unit. The collaboration will be particularly focused on areas related to electrification, battery technology, and software—key elements under the new regulations.
The choice of Detroit as the staging ground for Red Bull’s 2026 livery reveal signals a major shift in the team’s commercial and technical identity. By embracing the “Ford style” in their teasers, the reigning champions are highlighting that this partnership is far more than a simple branding exercise; it is a deep technical integration aimed at conquering the new engine era. Whether the famous Red Bull bull will be accompanied by more Ford blue on Thursday remains the biggest question in the paddock, but one thing is certain: the American influence on Milton Keynes has never been stronger.
